Terms and Conditions
1. GENERAL GUIDANCE
1.1 Skips/Container’s must not be overfilled. Level Loads Only (to top of skip). An extra charge will be applied to any overloaded skips/containers.
1.2 Rubbish must not be burnt inside the skip/container. If any fire occurs you will be liable to pay for a new/replacement skip/container and signage.
1.3 All skips are roll on-roll off easy loading skips (not chain skips) and customers are responsible for giving instructions regarding the siting of the container. The container must be placed on privately owned property (Driveway, garden etc). We advise customers to lay a protective covering where the skip is to be placed as we do not accept any liability for damages which may incur to surfaces subsequently.
1.4 Customer are advised to be present on time of delivery. If customer is not present all responsibility is with the customer.
1.5 Whilst every care will be taken, no liability will be accepted for any damage to property including driveways, drains, pavements, drains and walls.
1.6 Customers ordering vehicles off the public road do so at their own risk. No liability will be accepted.
1.7 During the continuance of the hire period, the customer shall fully and completely indemnify the owner in respect of all the claims by any person whatsoever, for injury to person or property including the property to the customer caused by or in connection with, or arising out of the use of the container and in respects of all costs and charges in connection therewith whether arising under statute or common law.
1.8 Our prices allow for the vehicle to be on site for 15 minutes, after this we will charge £1.50 + Vat per minute.
1.9 Cancellations made within 24 hours of delivery will incur either a 20% + Vat charge of the value of the container or a £50.00 + Vat charge, whichever is greater. Any cancellations/amendments are required to be confirmed via email (info@jackson-skip-hire.co.uk) in addition to a call to our office (0800 747 1756).
1.10 Wait and Load – Driver will wait on site for 45mins, any excess time will be charged at £1.50 + Vat per minute.
1.11 Any journeys made, delivery or collections, where the driver is turned away will incur a £100.00 + Vat wasted journey fee.
1.12 No Hardcore or Soil/Muck will be accepted in 10 yard (or above) skips unless by prior arrangement. No Soil/Muck to be mixed with any other plastic or wood waste as this will incur a £100 + Vat charge being applied.
1.13 No Soil to be mixed with Household waste or General waste.
2. WASTE GUIDANCE
2.1 Please note that all prices are quoted for non-hazardous waste and excludes food waste.
2.2 Containers must not be filled with any artificial surfaces such as, AstroTurf, rubber matting or roofing asphalt without prior agreement.
2.3 No Insulation/foam backed plasterboard or foam backed roofing tiles will be taken unless rates are agreed prior to delivery of skip/container.
2.4 Quoted rates are for a 1-14 day/s hire unless prior agreement to extend this initial period of rental, after which we reserve the right to charge £30 per week plus vat rental.
2.5 We reserve the right to automatically charge for any excess weight or for any prohibited items found within our containers. Level loads only (to top of skip). The driver will refuse to lift and remove a fire damaged, overloaded or dangerously loaded container which will incur a £100 + Vat wasted journey fee. If skips are found to have been fire damaged we subsequently reserve the right to charge the customer for a new/replacement skip/container.
2.6 All waste in skips/containers do not belong to Jackson Skip Hire until paid for in full and if any prohibited items are found within skips/containers then subsequently the customer will be charged for or returned to point of collection.
2.7 Skips/containers are not to be moved by customer as damage may be incurred to skip/container.
3. IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The following items will not be accepted within any skips/containers:
Asbestos or any type of AIB fibreboard, cement, tyres or dustbin refuse, oil, paints, solvents or flammable liquids, any type of gas cylinders, fire extinguishers or any type of pressurised container. Mattresses, sofas, fridges, freezer’s or plasterboard will only be taken upon prior agreement to an additional cost. If any of the above are found in skips there will be £150 + Vat charge applied.
All plasterboard/gypsum must be disposed of separately of which we can provide. Any contamination of plasterboard will incur a surcharge for the entire contents of the bin at £200 + Vat.
Plasterboard/gypsum in small quantities can be placed into skips/containers in ton bags (supplied by us upon prior agreement charged at £80 + Vat per bag). 4-12 Yard skips only.
Asbestos Containing Materials
We understand that if you work outside of the construction industry that you may have limited knowledge on asbestos and typical items that contain asbestos.
Asbestos can be found in many households still in the UK. The following link will give you a rough idea of items that may contain asbestos: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/asbestos-properties-incident-management-and-toxicology/asbestos-general-information. The most common item we receive within our skips are toilet cisterns. These have normally been converted into flower pots. It wasn’t until 1999 that asbestos was stopped being produced in the UK, any items pre-2000 should be treated with caution.
Asbestos can be considerably hazardous if handled incorrectly so if you are uncertain of any items that you are disposing of, please contact us or send us a photo of the item you are suspicious of.
